Anne M. Larson, PhD, conducts research on forest and landscape governance, covering property rights, climate change, decentralization, Indigenous territories, and gender. With a background in journalism and activism, she’s involved in innovative projects, including a diploma course for indigenous communities. Her current priorities include forest tenure, women’s land rights, multilevel governance, and climate change. Larson earned her PhD from Berkeley in 2001.
World Bank
Katharina Siegmann, specializes in climate change policies, environmental management, and gender and natural resources, primarily for the Central American region and Mexico. Katharina earned a Master’s degree in International Law and Economics from the University of Erlangen Nurnberg. Before her tenure at the World Bank, Katharina worked with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), contributing to climate policy initiatives in Mexico.
University of Illinois
Anne-Marie Hanson is an Interim Associate Dean for the College of Health, Science and Technology at University of Illinois. She is also an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies and affiliated with the UI System’s Discovery Partners Institute. Her research focuses on gender, pollution, environmental change, and marine ecosystem management. Current projects include studying gender, water, and hygiene in coastal Mexico, freshwater art-science collaborations in Illinois, exploring circular economics for regional sustainability. Dr. Hanson employs a multidisciplinary approach, combining humanities, social sciences and environmental science.
Climate Investment Funds
Nina Kolybashkina, is Senior Social Development Specialist with Climate Investment Funds. Nina’s role involves actively driving the gender mainstreaming agenda, ensuring that considerations of gender are integrated across initiatives. With over two decades of experience in developmental work, Nina’s expertise spans areas such as social inclusion, gender, rural development, water management, and resilience. Nina started her career with UNDP Ukraine, developing and coordinating a portfolio of community-based projects. She also worked with UN countries as an M&E consultant and as lecturer on social policy at Brunel University in the UK. Nina holds a PhD and MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford, and a Specialist Degree in Economics and Finance from Tavrida National University in Ukraine.
Climate Investment Funds
Neha leads the Evaluation and Learning (E&L) Initiative of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF). The E&L Initiative is at the forefront of making CIF's learning laboratory mandate a reality through learning that is evidence-based, timely, and relevant. Neha has over fifteen years of experience in climate, environment, and economic and social development, with deep expertise on evaluation methods, results measurements, and learning.
In the past, Neha worked at the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank on monitoring and evaluation capacity building. She has also worked on evaluative research and program design with organizations, including the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab and India Infrastructure Publishing. Neha holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and a second Master’s degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
